How to install .NET Framework

When using the Hyper-V agent backup method, an agent program needs to be installed on the Hyper-V server. To ensure that backup and restore functions function properly, after installing the agent on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8 systems, .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later version also needs to be installed.

Steps to Install .NET Framework

1. Download the offline installer

Download the .NET Framework 4.6.1 offline installer file (NDP461-KB3102436-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe) from the official Microsoft link above.

2. Right-click on the downloaded file and select "Run as Administrator".

3. Check "I agree to the license terms and conditions", and then click "Install" to begin the installation.

4. The installation process may take several minutes, depending on system performance.

5. In some cases, a restart of the operating system is required for the components to take effect after installation.

6. Verify successful installation: You can check whether .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later version is displayed in Control Panel → Programs and Features → Turn Windows features on or off.
