The "bare metal" refers to a completely blank hard disk on the same or different machine. The BMR solution avoids reinstallation from scratch. As a result, it can minimize computer downtime and save a lot of administrative efforts. Generally speaking, BMR makes disaster recovery process easier, better, and faster.

The Scenarios You May Need to Perform a Bare Metal Restore

As it mentioned above, it can be divided many situations to result in bare metal restore.

Besides, there are many scenarios that you should do a bare metal recovery. For example, your laptop was lost or stolen, you make a server hardware refresh, or migrate from physical to virtual servers, bought a new personal computer or laptop, migration from HDD to SSD and so on. For some of them can recovery to same machine while others can only restore to dissimilar hardware.

Restore a Backup Image to Bare Metal Machine

To solve the problems as mentioned above, you should restore a backup image with the help of a backup software like AOMEI Backupper to bare metal machine.
