Step 2. On a Mac with macOS Catalina, open Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, or on a PC, open iTunes. If iTunes is already open, close it, then open it again.

Method 4. Using DFU Mode

Device Firmware Update (DFU) Mode is even more powerful than Recovery Mode. It allows all devices to be restored from any state, including the iPhone white screen of death. This is more complex and tricker, but it's worth trying if nothing else has worked until now. To put your iPhone into DFU mode:

Step 1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of iTunes on computer.

Step 2. Connect your iPhone to computer and run iTunes.

● For iPhone 6s/6s Plus an earlier & iPad with Home button:

Quickly press and release the Volume Up button > Then quickly press and release the Volume Down button > Then press and hold the Side button until the screen goes black.

When the screen turns black, press and hold the Volume Down button while continuing to hold the Side button > After 5 seconds, release the Side button but continue to hold the Volume Down button until your device appears in iTunes.

Note: Nothing will be displayed on the screen when the device is in DFU mode. If open, iTunes will alert you that a device was detected in recovery mode. If not, repeat the process from the beginning.

Step 4. When iTunes can recognize your iPhone, please follow the onscreen instructions to restore the iPhone in iTunes.
