How to Perform Hardware Independent Restore?


Step 1. Download and install AOMEI Backupper on one computer. Use AOMEI Backupper to create a full backup of system, and save the image on a network location.

Step 2. Install AOMEI Backupper in another computer. Run AOMEI Backupper, click “Restore” and then click “Select Image File”.

Step 3. Select “Share/NAS” > “Add Network Location”. Type the network path and navigate to the hardware independent system image.

Step 4. Select “Restore this system backup” and tick “Restore system to other location” in the bottom.

Step 5. Select a drive on the target computer as the restoration destination and click “Next”.

Step 6. Tick “Universal Restore” to avoid boot issues after restoring to dissimilar hardware. Then, click “Start Restore” to begin the process.
