Step 2. C drive and System Reserved Partition (boot related drive) are selected by default. Just choose the destination partition. Then click Next.

  • Edit the size of partition: If you do not want to leave unallocated space of destination disk after cloning, you can edit partition by clicking Edit the size of partition.

  • Sector by sector clone: By default, AOMEI Backupper just clones the existing data on the disk and will not clone these deleted data. If you want to copy all the data (whether it has been deleted or not), you can choose the option of “sector by sector" option. The destination disk size must be equal to or larger than the source disk.

  • Align the partition optimized for SSD: If you are cloning disk to an SSD, it is highly recommended you to tick the box Align the partition optimized for SSD because this feature could improve the speed of reading and writing as well as prolong the service life of SSD.

Step 4. If all the things checked clear, you can click Start Clone.


  • Dynamic disk cannot be used as destination hard drive while cloning. You need to convert dynamic to basic before system clone.

  • After cloning process finishes. Now, you can change the boot order to destination disk in BIOS, or remove the old hard drive that contains previous boot drive to test if you can boot from destination disk.
