- Remove the three Phillips M2.0×5.0 screws along the bottom of the bottom cover.
- Using a non-marking tool, start prying near the middle of the computer near the display and work around to separate the bottom cover from computer, and then remove the bottom cover.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws that secure the battery to the computer.
- Lift the battery up near the connector, and then remove the battery from the computer.
Replace HDD with SSD on HP Gaming Pavilion 15-cx0056wm
Now you can remove the old HDD and install the new SSD.
- Lift the hard drive ZIF connector, and then disconnect the hard drive cable from the system board.
- Remove the four Phillips M2.0×5.0 screws that secure the hard drive to the computer.
- Remove the hard drive from the computer.
- To remove the hard drive bracket and connector, pull the connector away from the hard drive.
- Remove the four Phillips M3.0×3.0 screws that secure the bracket to the hard drive.
- Pull the bracket away from the sides of the hard drive to remove it.
- Reverse this procedure to assemble and install the new SSD. Reinstall the battery and bottom cover. Then reconnect power to start your computer.
