AOMEI Dissimilar Hardware Restore is an inbuilt feature of AOMEI Backupper. It can help you recover system image file created in other computers to yours. Usually, this function is applicable to the following situations:
✦ Hardware in computer such as motherboard has been changed, and you are required to reinstall system. If you don’t want to reinstall system, you can backup system before updating hardware and then use AOMEI Universal Restore to restore system to new hardware.
✦ Computer crashes, and you haven’t backed up system. If you don’t want to reinstall system, AOMEI Universal Restore will do you a favor. You can backup system in another computer, and then restore system image to your computer.
✦ There are a lot of bare metals where systems need to be installed. You can install system on one computer and backup it, and then, use AOMEI Universal Restore to restore system image to all other computers.
✐ Tips: Except for Universal Restore, this software still integrates with many useful features, such as, Schedule Backup, Incremental/Differential Backup, Disk Clone, System Clone, Create Bootable USB, etc. To learn more, please go to the Overview page.
Step1. Use AOMEI Backupper to make a bootable media on another computer.
Step2. Boot the bare metal from the bootable media. You’ll see loaded
AOMEI Backupper once login. Select Restore
Select Image File
option.
Locate the system image you created before and click OK
. Here the system
image is saved on a network location.
Step3. Select Restore this system backup
and tick
Restore system to other location
in the bottom.
Step4. Select the drive on the bare metal as the restoration destination
and click Next
.
Step5. Please tick Universal Restore
, and click Start
Restore
. Then, the system image will be restored safely and integrally.
