Duplicate hard drive to SSD on desktop
Step 1. Install the SSD to your computer and make sure it can be detected by Windows. Download, install and launch AOMEI Backupper. Go Clone and then Disk Clone.
Step 2. Select current hard drive as the source disk.
Step 3. Select the SSD as the destination disk.
Step 4. Select the cloning method based on your needs. By default, it will clone only used part of the hard drive. Tick Align partition to optimise for SSD box since the target disk is a SSD and then click Start Clone.
Step 5. Shut down the PC on completion. Swap the hard drive with SSD. To test SSD thoroughly, it is suggested keep only SSD with the computer and boot it. If everything goes normal, you can installed previous hard drive back and change boot priority in BIOS.
*You can edit partitions on SSD before starting clone. Sector by sector clone will make this option invalid.
*You may want to format C drive on hard drive and make full use of that space.
